Following the successful design by the CPG of MV Monarch, Real Journeys requested an additional vessel for its Milford Sound fleet with a few changes.

Demand for day cruises in Milford Sounds meant that the existing fleet of vessel could not keep up with demand. CPG designed a day cruiser to handle 420 passengers and enabled the passengers to view the scenery both inside out of the rain or out on deck enjoying the grandeur. The vessel was designed to serve meals and ensure that passengers had a view no matter where they were seated on the boat. A sister ship was built several years after the first was commissioned.

The MV Sovereign was completed on time with Surperb build quality.  CPG Completed the final stages of commissioning of the vessel including sea trials, stability and variation of berthing facilities..
