To design and contract observation for the water supply of an 18 hole world class championship golf course.
CPG were responsible for the detailed design and contract observation for the water supply. The supply provides water for the 18 hole championship golf course, the resort irrigation and the potable water supply for the Coneburn area. The Coneburn area comprises three separate developments, Jacks Point, Henley Down and Homestead Bay, which together will contain some 3000 dwellings, apartments, a 60 room lodge and a commercial area.
The potable water supply consists of an intake pipe and pump station to draw water from Lake Wakatipu and deliver it to the treatment site high above the development. The water is currently treated with UV disinfection and chlorination. Filtration pilot trials have been undertaken and will provide valuable information on a pre-filtration stage that may be incorporated into the treatment system in the future. The treated water is stored in a 1300m3 underground reservoir before being fed by gravity into the developments. There is provision for a further two reservoirs in the future.
